Hello everyone,

We received some excellent suggestions in the meeting topics thread. However, I feel that some of these suggestions may be better suited to a workshop rather than the regular monthly meetings. I am especially thinking in terms of the DIY construction type topics that can't be accomplished within the normal scope of a one hour meeting talk.

Would anyone be interested in attending a half-day type workshop for such topics. There may be a small fee to cover the cost of materials but we could have a drawing for the finished product as a door prize at the conclusion of the workshop. Depending on the type of workshop, enrollment may be on a first come, first serve basis. This would be at the discretion of the instructor and sponsor.

As an alternative, if someone wanted to pay for the materials for the workshop, they could act as the workshop's sponsor.

Please let me know.

If anyone has any suggestions for a specific workshop or would like to volunteer to serve as an instructor, please let us know as well.

I should note that these workshops would be in addition to our regular montly meetings and not in place of them. Scheduling would be up to the host and instructor.

maybe you could sell kits and we could put our new found knowledge to work.

This would be a great idea for a DIY workshop. You could either demonstrate the project and let the attendees purchase a kit to take home, or include the kit in the price of the workshop and let the attendee build it there.

I see lots of questions about reactors, fuges and closed loops... I personally would be very interested in watching a DIY reactor build.

DIY workshops...excellent idea! I agree there should be a fee to cover materials, etc. A small price to pay for knowledge.

Depending on topic I would probably be interested, and, perhaps we could video-tape the workshop and have it available for purchase at a later date for those that didn't go?

We have a highly qualified volunteer for a combination electrical safety/DIY lighting project workshop. We are talking about maybe doing a DIY moonlight project. What do you think?

alex and I were talking about a food workshop... it wouldnt really be a DIY project unless you considered blending up a batch and making your own flat pack a DIY project.

It could be combined with another workshop since it probably wouldnt take much time

We are going to do a meeting this summer where we have several small mini-workshops going on at the same time. DIY food is one of them that we are going to do. You can pick and chose which one you want to participate in and if time allows we may do them more than once so that you can participate in two.

I would like to attend a close loop, DIY auto top off, and DIY moonlights. Builing a reactor would also be cool.
