Hey gang! Is anyone out there running Coralview 14k DE's without actinic supps? Or any Coralview DE lamp really. If so, Id really like to hear your evaluation/opinions of them, maybe even some pics? Links would be appreciated also. Hopefully a few of you will chime in here.
Thanks!

i had the 14k DE, but they looked like 6500k. I sold those and went to the 20k, but they looked like 10k. I ended up going for XDE 10k due to the signifigant increase in par. It was run of ARO ballasts, and from what i understand the Croalvue ballasts run the colors true

Josh, thanks for the linkage, Ive seen most of those in the past. They seem to focus mostly on single ended combinations, what I really need is good pics accurately representing the true color of the 250w 14k de without actinics. Doesnt seem to be much info on them out there.

I have just recieved the 250w 14k hqi de pheonix bulbs. they replaced my 10k ushio. I put them on Saturday so the color may not be the proper representation of the bulb but they are awesome. There is a lot of info on them on reefcentral and and sanjay has included that brand in his analysis. They are made by the same company that makes the aquaconnect bulb (115.00 ea). the pheonix bulbs ran 65.00 ea and well worth it. I will get a pic today and post. My greens turned yellow my pom pom went from a white to a pink/silver hue. purples turned blue and rust color zoos turned an electric orange. I am not runniing any actinics. I also looked at the coralvue and hamiltons but there was too much debate as you may have noticed. I will reply to this post with a pic

I ran the Blueline 14Ks for a while. They had nice color but I think the PAR really went down and growth crawled to almost to a stop. I wouldn't really recommend them for that reason.

Yeah, Ive read several articles reflecting your opinion of the Blueline 14k's, not only are they said to be too blue with very low par, there has also been many complaints about the quality/durability of the bulbs. Thanks for the input Gary!

I am running 2 14k de coral vue plus a 10k de coral vue, and 4 24 watt actinic compacts
I am really happy with the color. As far as the color is concerned it looks like 20k and 10k mix together. My corals, have taken off tremendously, espeacialy my Purple Monster and other sps.

I am happy with the output. THey take about a week to burn in but when they burn in, they look awsome.

I am using 2 250de14k's(coralview) 1 250 de 10 k(coralview). The 14'k's are great becuase I have noticed better growth and color than the previous 20k's.

For comparison I am running 3x Geissman 14.5k 250 Watt DE Bulbs. The color has shifted pretty hard in the past 4 months but it's still nice. Expensive though - I'd like to find a more inexpensive bulb.
