Anemones commonly split after being shipped. Its their response to stress. Every time I ever moved my tanks I would end up with a bunch of split anemones.

my BTA hardly stays in one place for more than a week! every morning it's the first thing i do is go check on the bubble to see what it's stinging now.

Gary, what do you do toss them in the sink? :P hehe j/k I've moved a bunch of times and my RBTA has never split. In fact, he's been on the same rock through 2 houses and 4 tanks, not including the rubbermaid trash cans he's spent a few days in at various stages.

Try moving across South Carolina, then to New Orleans, and then back to Texas. You'll be overrun with anemones. I started with 3 LTAs. Every time I moved they would split 3:1 and plus few times in between. If I had kept them all I would have ended up with something like 81 anemones.

I've had people ask me how to get their anemone to split and I usually say, "I can tell you what has worked for me. Put it in a bag and head east on I-10, when you see the atlantic ocean, turn around and come back."

Moving a few miles isn't a real move Josh, at least to an anemone.

Larry told me he has an ultra grade RBTA (deepwater) that has grown huge and instead of splitting like we normally think of, it keeps dropping off small frags.
