Sorry if this is a stupid question but im curious about this. I have two hammer corals that I got from two different places. Both of them are branching hammer and get them both very cheap as they were close to dead and only 1 head left alive on each of them. When I bought these they were brownish/pink color and now they are both turning bright green. Its great that they are changing as they look much better just curious why they do this? They have stonger lighting now in my tank than they did in the tanks I got them from. This the reason maybe?

You answered your own question!

They were dying and that would be the reason they were brownish, but now that you are taking care of them and they are happy and healthy ... green is good!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't getting enough light at the LFS.

Yeah, i have a beautiful hammer, it had 2 heads..well..1, because 1 didnt make it..it was brown, but fading..anyways, 4 months later, it has 10 heads, and its all green, beautiful corals if taken care of.

So if they change colors with correct light and tank parameters, why do you pay more for "colored" versions when you order? Is it possible that a healthy say hammer order from somwhere online that is dull colored to turn bright or even change colors?

Everything is possible the same as a brilliant colored coral turning brown.

Yeah, if given the correct light, water quality and TLC... LOL
