Cool! Are you running 10k one one side and 20K on the other?

It sure looks like but I'm not. Both the boxes say 20K. I don't know whats going on with that!!!!!

Yup, he does great work (AND FAST!) ... much better than that $200 squat box you bought :D

Those sure are some big turbo's in your tank ;)

Very fast work!!! Thanks again for the turbos. Now I have to figure out whats going on with these lights. Maybe it just looks funny becaus all the live rock is on one side and the other side just has that bare white holey rock.

Check the bulbs after they cool down. I bet one is 10K. They could have accidentally sent the wrong bulb.

I'll do that, Thanks brad

I looked at both the bulbs and they have the exact same numbers on them. Maybe its just a bad bulb. Has this happened to anyone else? If it's not one thing it's something else.

looking in the picture the bulb on the right is not even creating light on the back of the stand. i think mabey the ballast is not producing enoughf punch

Brad, that canopy is really sharp. And it seems you are having the worst luck i have seen here yet. But, once you get it all running the way you want it, all of the troubles will have been well worth it...... :)

IMo...Both lights seem fine, The thing about Brad's tank is that all the colorful, purple rock with coraline algea is on the right side, thats why it looks brighter..

Looks really neat, ive been trying to get a hold of Pete for a while, he never wrote back!!!..LOL

I agree with the others. Not looking at the tank but the back of the canopy and right side there is not the same light intensity there and that shouldn't be from what's in the tank.

I would say a bad bulb or ballast. As you have the quick disconnects, I would switch the cables from each socket, thereby changing the ballast connected to each light. If the lights stays the same with the one on the right being dark, then it is the bulb that is bad. If the bulb on the left goes darker after swapping the cables, then that specific ballast is bad.

Other than that, the canopy looks great, was cool getting to watch Pete do his magic! Should look really nice when you stain it to match the stand.

Just one thing I noticed...shouldn't the bulbs be perpendicular to the length of the tank (better spread)? That's what I have always understood, but I could be wrong (and get some free education too). So, What I am saying is to rotate the bulbs (and reflectors) 90 degrees.

rotating the reflectors like saltyjim suggested should increase the spread, and brighten up the centre of the tank.
