The April MAAST meeting will be held in the Austin area (near the YMCA we had our meeting at in Feb) on April 10 at 2 pm.

The topic of the meeting is still getting finalized, but it will either be aptasia control or a new chemistry talk. Either way, you are sure to learn a lot!

Its going to be at StephenA's house. We just finalized the topic as well. Instar (Larry) is going to talk about Aiptasia control as well as general information on Aiptasia biology. From the number of posts I see concerning Aiptasia I think this is going to be a very good topic and I hope to see a lot of you there.

You might want to hold off on the peppermint until after the meeting. Peppermint do eat aiptasia, but they will eat a lot of other things too, such as polyps and other anemones.

That sounds like an "educational" experience. Besides, if you can wait until the Corpus trip you can get a few hundred free peppermint off the jetties.

That's where mine came from... They are great scavengers.

They spent a lot of time picking life out of the live rock, flipping snails around to see if they are dead or not, etc...

Yay!!! Thanks Misti! ;) I would volunteer to host the June meeting, but I'm moving at the end of June, so its probably not a good idea. I'll try to con some of my MAAST friends in the area into hosting it though! ;)

I'll host the June meeting if you can stand to be out at the lake (Lake Travis that is) as well as driving out to Lago Vista. Anyone in the west SA area including Spring Branch can just drive up 281 to 1431. If you do decide to do it at my place, I would prefer to do it on Saturday instead of Sunday as I am very busy running the church's sound system on Sunday mornings and I will need some setup time prior to the meeting.

For you folks in the Austin area, I am about 20 to 25 minutes from the YMCA in Cedar Park depending on traffic.

Just in case MapQuest is a little off here are the written directions:

My house is located in the NW Corner of US183 and RR620 Off of Lakeline Blvd.

From San Antonio take I35 N Thru Austin; take US183 N to Cedar Park. When the divided highway ends turn left (2nd light) on Lakeline Blvd, take the 2nd light left on Little Elm and my house is on the first corner on Wood Ridge Lane. The house with the fire hydrant. 934 Woodridge Lane.

MapQuest shows Little Elm Trail as a dead end, it isn't.
