Well, he did his job and took out all of the aptasia. Now I want to capture him and move him to my 29 gallon tank. How do I get him out of my 135 without taking down the tank? Are there any DIY traps that will work? If so, what are they?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the mantis traps work for peps, and fish traps.... annoying, but they do work. I used a mantis trap to take care of mine that was ripping out the guts of the anemone.

Do you still have yours? If so may I borrow it?

if you have a disposable tupperwear bowl you can just cut a hole in it and put in food... the shrimp will climb inside and you can then remove him easily

I acutally used a piece of clear film to make a tube that made it possible to grab more than one at a time, but you wont have any trouble getting the bowl out of the tank with only one in it

Mine will go after a silverside and keep so occupied as to just scoop them up. Now I haven't actually done it, but they're not afraid of my hand coming very close when they're so occupied with the food.

Hey, I have one of those. Didn't even think of using it. Thanks Joshua. I'll give that a try and that way I won't "destroy" any of my wife's plastic thingys.

I captured two with a heavy glass beer mug on its side, with a chunk of shrimp at the bottom. Once the peppermints were occupied with the shrimp, I was able to carefully reach down, tilt the mug up and pull it out. You have to be quick, though, since there's nothing stopping them from zipping straight back and out until you have the mug vertical.

Just add a trigger to your tank...

Lots of ways.... A piece of PVC pipe with saran wrap and a rubber band on one end. Put food in the back of it and when it goes in put a net over the open end. Then bring it over here.

Tim,
You need some peps? I have a few left from the 200 I collected from Port Aransas last year. Do I hear those snips again? LMAO!
