if i have a 1 1/2" bulkhead, and my pump has a 1" in this is OK.
if my pump has a 1"out, then goes to 1 1/2" plumbing, then reduces back to 1", will this be a problem?

No problem. Large makes less resistance. If you are putting it through a small diameter then you lose flow and raise the pressure.

First is fine since your feed is larger than the inlet.
Second why are you going from 1 to 1.5 and back to 1, should be ok though.

Well, currently i have a sequence, which is a 1.5 in/out/ all my plumbing is 1.5 through a W, then 2 reduce to 1" and the third reduces to 3/4. so, i dont want to replace all that plumbing, too much work.
