The March meeting will be held at AlexWolf's home in San Antonio on SUNDAY, MARCH 13 at 2 pm. Our education committee is working hard to get an awesome powerpoint presentation ready for the meeting.

I know that we all have algae problems at one time or another and get really frustrated and annoyed.... this will be a great oppertunity to learn why they form, how to id hem, what to do about them, and how long it may take.

Hope to see everyone there!

Can we just have it at my house and everyone can get a fresh sample of algea out of my tank....and it will help me prune!!!! Everyone could win and have a take home package!!

I would be happy to host a meeting in the late summer early fall.
This would give me some more time to get my system rocking....it's coming along well, but just need some more time....

Dan's bragging again. Would you like the name of a guy to build you a bigger fuge? I know a pretty good guy.

Any good nuisance algae pics can be sent to me at my regular email address:

What is the typical attendance to a monthly meeting? I'm picturing 20-30?

Do we need to bring anything other than a happy face?

So, what's up for grabs in the raffles? I might bring a few extra bills along if I knew the items ... like maybe y'all are raffling off the MAAST corporate jet this time, or those BOD SPURS Box seats ;)

I'm looking forward to being at the meeting. I haven't made one in maybe two years? I think that the last one I was at was when Troy and I made fish food at his house. Long, Long ago.

Thanks for the thought. For those of you that bought sand/macros thanks you and sorry we were not there to take them. On our way to the meeting we wrecked our car :cry :cry :angry at the 35/10 upper/lower level interchange. We are ok but oblivously were unable to continue our trip.

the car is at Alamo paint and body any body know the quality of there work. Sould I leave it there or have it taken to a different/better shop. Maybe someone here is in the body work biz and has the inside scoop.

You don't really want to see me doing the algae dance.

I hope everyone came away with at least useful information. I had to cover a lot of ground in a fairly short period of time. If anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me.

Gary had a presentation on algae? :zzz J/K!!

Alex, Thanks for allowing us to have the meeting at your house. We had a great time and appreciate everything. Also, thanks for the corals.

Gary, great presentation and looking forward to the monster cycle in our near future where your info will come into play. Hopefully, we won't need this info after the cycle.
We promise not to post any " I'm having an algae bloom, what do I do" questions.

Alex,

My thanks as well to allowing so many "stangers" into your home. The tank was magnificent in person. Loved the two baby purple tangs swimming around with the other tangs. The store is looking good as well. After you have it up and running, you will need to invite us all over to "invade" it. Just tell Misti when you want to host again.

Gary,

Really appreciated all of the hard work that went into your presentation. Very well done and the handouts were a great thing to give out. I think a lot of people learned some new stuff, including me. Looking forward to the next one.

By the way, any word on when and where the next one will be held?

Gary, you did a fine job on the Algae talk and presentation.

Our hard working president, Misti, is working on the next meeting. We're still looking for some volunteers from Austin to host meetings. So all you Austinites please step up and volunteer for an invasion of MAASTards.

I'd also like to thank StephenA for making my rather dull power point presentation so "pretty." Also, I'd like to thank Instar (Larry) and JimD for helping to edit and add some of the content to the areas I am not as experienced with. RamPuppy (Steve) and JimD were also very helpful with some of the graphics we used.

We hope to start posting the power point presentations as a resource for MAAST. Chris is lining up some new software for us to do that so please stay tuned for further updates.

I was so looking forward to meeting some of y'all in person, but I couldn't reason making the trip after pulling up a good chunk of the wood floor due to a fridge leak. I think the Mrs was happy with my decision. :(

I'm hoping that next month might be in Austin. In the future I'm certain that I'll be more than happy to offer our home, but I would like to at least attend a meeting first to get a better idea what to expect from all them "strangers."

GaryP

Plans are being finalized but Austin is looking like a high possibility.

As much as I'd love to host a meeting, I don't know that we have enough room! And with a few-day-old tank, I don't think you guys would want to come over and see a tank of muddy water, anyway ;)

Maybe one day!

Gary,

Since the handouts were screen shots of the PowerPoint presentation, why don't you put the PP file out on the web site for anyone to download and use? Just a thought.

We definitely plan on it, as well as a chemistry talk we did on ppt last year. We'll be doing another one for next month's meeting as well. We hope to do as many of the upcoming talks as possible on ppt .

Our webmaster, Chris, is providing the education committee with some new tools to be able to load a lot of new resources onto the website.
