Today when Sherri was over getting her pretty new pH / temp monitor I noticed that my 180 was very still on the top. After Sherri left I got to investigating....

My Eheim external pump is dead, this is to the closed loop that does the majority of the circulation.

The canister filter I run with carbon on the 180 is dead...

My skimmer on the tank is not working... seems plugged up but after taking apart the other two tonight I do not want to bother with the skimmer until another day.

These are on two seperate breakers, and nothing else is having a problem. Just crappy luck, I guess.

I am gonna go cry and pull out the extra HOB filter for surface movement/air.

They say it comes in three's, so you must be past the worst of it :(

That really sucks - let us know if you need loaner pumps or anything?

What size Eheim? I have an old 1260 (I Think) laying around somewhere.

... wait a minute, isn't all that nice donated equipment at your house :skeezy

CPS is doing extensive testing in your area and we have been having problems on the commercial side of single phasing. Sometimes electricity does weird things, just because you are on a seperate breaker does not mean your are on a seperate phase. Remember you have an "A" and "B" in your home and although you cannot single phase like a commercial building you can lose a leg.

I think he is saying the current is not flowing right.

Sorry about the confusion, lets try again. You have 4 wires coming in to your house 2 ungrounded each carries 120 volts to ground, 1 grounded and 1 grounding. Colors are typical black, red, white and green. Sometimes you can lose power over the black or red wire therfore half your appliances work the other half don't, depending how the electrician wired your panel. As a rule half your breakers are on one phase the other half are on the other. Two pole breakers like for your hot water heater are connected to both phases.

Y'all are so sweet. Tonight I am working on the tank a little more, deciding what is unstartable, what I need to order. Ten I may need to take one of y'all up on the use of a pump until things get in.
