I was just wondering if anyone here was using one of these pumps? I just set my tank up and it is pretty loud. I didn't think it was going to be quite this loud :wacko I guess i will be plumbing it through the wall into the garage like i had not really wanted to do.

I almost went with Iwaki, but i have heard that Gen-X was pretty reliable, and the price was right as well.......... :)

you guys should run up to CB Pets and check out the Sequence Barracuda they have on one of the new coral tanks, quiet as a mouse.

I'll second the noise on the GenX pumps. Noisy and they get warm/hot.

If any of you guys are interested in a Sequence Hammerhead, I think I may downgrade.
This this is a beast......I think I overordered when I bought it.
Its two months old.

What's the rating on the Hammerhead? I have a Stingray model I purchased, but haven't used yet.

5800 GPH
I think it is the one above a Stingray.
I wish it were about 3000 GPH

Come on Mike, we enjoy coming over to your place and acting like we are at Niagra Falls with the salt spray in our face ;)

Wow, 5800 GPH!!! Way too much for my tank. I would love to get a sequence, but that is more than i need on the return (i think). I was thinking this was too much. But not real sure yet. Won't really know til i get the rock in. Thanks for the info guys.
