I hope they don't get jammed in your pump. I see visions of flying impeller blades. Check your clearances.

I used to feed Tetra color bits or something like that. Little pellets and its what i had to use to get a baggai cardinal to start eating long time ago. Not sure of nutritional value of em but the fish sure liked them!

Josh,

I use Ocean Nutrition Formula One and Formula Two pellets. Spectrum pellets are good also. Have used all three with an auto-feeder.

I have the formula one pellets; but they reaaly don't sink. they sink when they get some surface agitation or I "throw" them down into the water. If your pump makes good enough suction then maybe it'll pull them down. Don't know though. Just adding my $.02

I lkie the ocean nutrition pellets also. Just get or make a feeding ring so they don't go down the overflow before they sink.

Also Dainichi pellets are supposed to be one of the best foods on the market. Not sure if any stores around carry it though. Here's a link...

EDIT
This one's probably better since it has cyclop-eeze in it...
