I no longer have any peppermint or cleaner shrimp in my tank, lion and trigger would not allow them to survive but tonight I have hundreds swarming around in my tank. I used to keep peppermints in my fuge so that they would spawn and feed my corals on a regular basis but havent had any cleaner shrimp since my tank died, and I took the pair of peppermint out of the fuge long ago. These arent pods of any sort, definatly baby shrimp but just wonder where they came from??? I search my tank with flashlight at night on a regular basis and havent seen any, though I did have the little camo colored shrimp in my sump, but they are less than 1/4" and no way they could have spawned this many babies, and wouldnt think this size of babies. Any ideas?

Those little rascals come up outta the substrate and rocks at night. There can be thousands of them and they cycle with the lunar cycle each month. Great deal - sounds like your tank didn't totally die or your efforts have been effective to restore the tank.

I'm guessing you don't have a lot of wrasses in that tank.

Swarming to me means in the water column, to qualify that.

If you are talking about on the glass, bottom and rocks, then its either mysis or gammarus shrimp or both.

Try googling them and see if you can identify which they are.
