I was going to ask if a cell phone was an optional accessory or comes standard? I hope you don't make one with a moon roof.
What about GPS in case I forget where I keep my skimmer?

I think im going to build a bigger one.........im going to expirament with a taller tube and see if it really makes a differece. This one pulls tons of skimmate, and its short enough to be put under a stand in sump.

The taller the reaction chamber, the more bubbles and bubble/water contact time, thus, more protein removal.

That's why the old air driven counter flow skimers got to be rediculously tall. You hear stories about reefers putting them in their basement and putting the tops through the floor next to the tank.
The newer centrifugal design seem to go for greater diameter rather than height or greater diameter and height.

Exactly why I made mine tall ... ;)

OK, so no basement. Do you think that Am would mind a skimmer sticking up in the middle of the stairwell? It might be a bit of a trip hazard but I'm sure you will get used to it.

i would like to see hard evidence that taller makes more of a difference than wider.

I cant and Im not giving HARD evidence, but with a seaclone there are mods ... all the mads are because there isnt enough reaction time and air intake sucks ...
Mods being shorten the tube inside ... all I did was make more air enter and I get as much skim as other skimmers, but you have to play with it every day.

alex is right in my maxim magazine they surveyed 100 w and they agree wider is better  , also pontiac agrees with this statement with the grandprix :-D

Everyone knows width and length are equally as important ;)
