Look at this bad boy! Anyone want to buy my year old Aquacontroller II for the same amount I paid for it so I can get this one? No? I didn't think so. Anyway, if someone gets one you have to have me come over so that I can see it.

Darn it.............I just ordered a Model 2 package from Neptune today for tommorrows delivery.

The email and web interface on this one is awesome.....
I might see if I can ship the 2 back and get the 3.

I swear this is my luck.

Have you guys looked at this unit: http://www.digitalaquatics.com/ ? It doesn't do everything the Aquacontrollers do, but it does what most people need. (wavemaker, timer, temp-based control)

My main beef with the Aquacontrollers is that they use X-10. That's fine for the lights, but it would drive me nuts for the wavemaker functionality.

It's about time they put a network connection on a controller! But $700+ WOW

If I did it over someday, and I might, I would go away from X10 controls. The pumps, ballasts, etc. of a reef system induce a great deal of electrical noise on the power circuits, and X10 controllers become VERY flakey!

I never could get X-10 to work here. Too many Lights and other gizmos. I worked with their tech support and it would have taken $1000+ to put in filters and phase connectors.

Yup, been there ... done that, and it still isn't 100% reliable.

With an aquacontroller, the controller and the X-10 modules would be on the same circuit, so I wouldn't expect you would have problems. But you still have those **** loud relays.

I'm surprised no one has come up with a solid-state X-10 module that could do the switching without the clicking. But in any case, the whole X-10 standard has way outlived its day.

I couldn't get them to work on the same circuit due to noise and feed back from lighting in my house, it's all fluorescent.

Yeah, the electronic ballasts are what screwed up my X10s on my controller.
They do offer a controlled setup that is almost the same as the link that Alex posted. But that is just MORE $.

I understand some of you have had X10 problems but I do not. I also do not use it as a wavemaker. I like it alot!
