Wow! I wonder what size magnet cleaner they use to clean the acrylic? LOL

Actually, I would think he would just dive in and clean it from the inside. Then his wife could stand on the other side and say "No honey, you missed a spot" and point (over and over again). LOL

lol, what's your upgrade path Don? Something like 10 to 58 to 240??? You should have one of these in what, 3 years or so?

I would do it right now if I had about $100,000.00 laying around. 8)

Check out the thickness of that glass! :o Wonder what his flood insurance premium runs? Pretty cool tank at the top of the staircase too.

I think I'll covert my pool to salt and just keep fish in it! :-D

Actually, the tank is arcylic, not glass. The seams would never fail as they are welded together (sort of like PVC bonding). Therefore no flood insurance needed; at least for tank breakage. Now if he created a siphon effect and didn't catch it, that would be another story. I am sure if can afford the tank, he can afford the additional premium on his home owner's insurance policy.

Ahhh, to be wealty enough to afford something like that... (excuse me while I slip back into fantasy mode)

My guess that this tank is 18ft long 5ft wide and 6'ft tall...that's 4039gal

If this person is going to make this a reef tank...the lighting alone would cost a fortune, not to mention the evaporation rate. It would probably lose 80g to 100g a day!!!

I think I see Jim Norris's fingerprints all over that tank. Jim have you been setting up a new tank without telling us? He's probably using lasers or something to light the thing.

If that was Jim's, the tank would light the room not the other way around and it would not have plastic corals. Imagine it with 36 1,000w MH's....

Imagine a 4-5 ft. wide table as a center piece. Or maybe a 4-5 ft. staghorn. It boggles the mind.

I thought that was LR, not plastic coral. The idea makes me sick.

There's another link below the picture. It shows part of the equipment, and also when they lowered it into place, they had to use a crane! Looks like the room was built *around* the aquarium :o

I do not think it will be a reef tank.

The only thing stopping me from ordering one just like that is ... I would need to build a bigger cart :o

That guy has obviously got more money than smarts. He paid for a tank with four sides of clear acrylic and then buried three sides behind walls. If you are gonna do that why not just get one clear "window" piece of acrylic and make the other three sides and the bottom fiberglass. That would only save you tens of thousands of dollars.

That cart had better have 18 wheels and a 10 liter diesel engine.

From looking through the pics, it looks like both ends of the tank are visable through other rooms. Could be wrong though as they mixed in pics of other tanks as well.

Man, to do that as a full reef tank the guy would need his own nuclear reactor to power the lighting and pumps!
