What are the dimentions of the tank and thickness of the glass? Your talking bout the center brace, right?

The lenght is 48", width is 12", and height is 20". the thickness of the glass is about 3/4 of an inch, maybe a bit less. Yes, it is the center brace.

Actually, those dimentions calculate to more like a 50 gallon, none the less, on a 4' tank 20" tall, I suggest getting the brace replaced asap, you can either re-silicone the old one back in using a bar clamp and aquarium grade silicone, or have a glass shop cut you a piece of glass if the old ones broken. Why did it snap? Halides too close?

If your tank is glass I doubt its 3/4 inch glass - thats pretty thick and expensive glass. REgardless get a glass shop to cut you a piece and replace it. Id drain the tank a bit esp if it looks to be bowing out looking from the side of the tank. Is your tank drilled? If may not be much more $$ to get a new tank in that size.

I was wrong the thickness is 1/4" not 3/4". I have no idea how it snapped, there was just a loud snap and the glass was bowing.

Better fix it fast or the next snap you here might be the front or rear pane!

The tank is not drilled and most everything is out of the tank. Everything but some base rock and sand is in two bucket with the lights sitting on top.
