just showing off the 2.5 gallon. hopefully it will grow out as fast as it has been.
thats my diy topoff to the left, i made it out of an a&w cream soda bottle, an air pump, some rigid airline tubing, an air regulator, and some airline, works miracles!

i upgraded my topoff from the 1L bottle to a 4L bottle. if youre wondering if you recognize the bottle here's a clue, in order for me to have it now i was completely wasted last weekend :P
it works MUCH better than the previous one, holds MUCH more water and i put silicone inside the cap around the tubes so it is completely air tight.
i also rearranged a few of the corals and got a couple of new ones.

oh yeah, and i changed the 10k bulb out with a 50/50 so the pic and the tank are ALOT more blue. i decided that i wanted more color than growth in this tank so i went with that. :)

That is quite a rig. Love the wood work! Kinda makes the top off bottle holder look a little ghetto, but, only scuba-steve will see that. :P

i saw a few awsome peices that would look great in your nano at aquatic warhouse, zoo's for $9
assorted polyps and brain frags, how often do you have to change the water in a tank that small?
Nano_Steve
Fri, 11th Feb 2005, 12:35 PM
i havent done a single water change in about a month and a half. i know its bad husbandry but i usually dont do water changes unless i get new frags.
im going to do one this weekend. im supposed to get some blue elkhorn digitata and a frag of the coveted german blue polyp, im very excited :D

Wow, that is a very nice setup. How long did you let it cycle before you acutally put your corals in?

i put most of the corals in the tank the first day i put the rock and sand in there. i got my rock from a very well established tank and the sand came from my 7 gallon bowfront that had cultured for about a month.

That is sweet! Why is there a plastic tube around the feather duster? I assume it is to protect it from something, but what?

hahaha matt, I can't believe it's that noticeable :P It's there because I used to move him around alot and he lost all of his feathers over the summer and I wanted to put him in something wthat I could move around easily but not have him get all stressed out from ripping his foot off of the rocks. He has since grown all of his feathers back and has put alot of new growth on it.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'm in the process of taking photos each week to see how it grows. I only have my phone camera to take photos with but the quality isnt too bad when you consider its a phone.
