new clam

i picked up a clam from TFH in CC last week and was very surprised by it's color. when i first looked at it in the tank it was more purple. but after putting it into the clam tank. it's got some amazing color. i'll post a pick later tonight.

also i was kinda worried about a black spot on the clams shell when i first put it in. i kinda left the spot there to see what it was. the next morning it looked like it had move. so i picked it off. upon close examination of the black spot.

it turns out to be a baby clam that had attached to the crocea's shell. i put it on the live rock, and about 10 min. later it had attached. it's still living and doing fine.

i'll post pic of it later too.

should have a few more clams in the tank by thursday

Isn't cool to find stuff like that (the baby clam). That's when you let out a Whoo Hoo!

messy in what way?
not much more work that any other tank. just clean the glass and your all good.

there is more to come. i put in a frag of plating monti. so it should start growing soon. i also will pick up some frags in a trade to put in there also. i've added a powder brown tang to the tank to give it some movement.

wonder with the water running over the edge like that if it makes the fish want to jump?

i did loose a shrimp goby a week ago. i have a powder brown tang in it now and he's doing fine.
