I came came home yesterday and the skimmer and fuge were getting no water.
The panworld pump was running, but producing no water.
I restarted it and it started pumping water again.

It stopped again overnight last night and so this morning I took the front off of it and checked for any kind of blockage and didnt find anything.
Put it back together and it pumped water but now it has stopped again.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like the impeller is getting stuck. Happens on some of my cheaper pumps from time to time, i give it good whack and it starts right up. Dont you have warranty on it?

Mike my PW pumps (200, 100s, & 50s) have never given me any trouble. I swear you must be the unluckiest person I have met when it comes to on-line vendors. First the skimmer, now the PW pump!

I am sure they will exchange, but what a bummer!

Did it run dry any lately?

I don't think the PW have magnetic impellers like smaller pumps so "whacking" it won't help much. I'd definately contact the company you purchased it from and see about replacement. Is the motor running and the spindle/shaft not turning? If so, something is broken inside the motor housing. If the shaft is turning and still no water is coming out, something is wrong with the wet end housing. Either way, it needs to be replaced.

Mike, my PW 200PXX will not restart immediately after being powered off - I have always assumed this is some type of thermal protection circuit?

Is it possible that the pump is overheating and shutting off? Back to the question above, is the pump not running, or running but not pumping?

If not running at all, try pointing a fan at it to see if that helps with possible overheating???

And if it is running, you may be sucking in air from some place and vapor locking it.

I was thinking the same thing as Tim, could be filling up with air...

My PW stopped after a few months in service. I just cleaned it out with a toothbrush and some vinegar. I haven't had a problem with it since then. You might have gotten a little trash caught in there. The tolerance on those PWs are pretty tight and I don't think it would take much solids to cause a problem.

As a side note, I dropped the temp on my 215 1.5 degrees by pointing a little fan on my iwaki 100.
