its a t5 with 8 bulbs 48inch for 55 gal tank comes with bulbs for 299

Hard to tell about the reflector from the photo, but to put 8 T5HO bulbs in 8.5 inches wouldn't leave much room for the parabolic type reflector that really makes T5s work. My guess is that there is one large curved reflector with the 8 bulbs in front. I think you would be better off with a 6 bulb unit that had better reflectors. Sunlight Supply and TEK are both good. Check with Greg (360Reef). I think he sells these.
