Cool timing. In the pic it looks like the base is also involved?

Nice pic!
I'm glad you posted that, so now I won't freak out when my trumpets split. Looks like they're melting!!Several of the heads have two mouths on them, so I'm thinking it won't be long. Cool!!

Yeah it shouldn't be too long  We've got a couple colonies that have all grown but this is the first time I've seen them split. We moved them from Brian's tank to mine yesterday so I'm thinking they might split when a huge water change happens (like anemones). If I'm wrong someone feel free to correct me.

I just looked and the base looks normal...they all have a seperate 'tube?'... they aren't sharing the same 'tube' anymore. :?

Interesting. I always thought that was a hard calcified tube?

The tubes are hard and sharp!! but I wasn't watching them closely enough to see what was going on with them over the last few weeks  The next time I see one with two mouths I'll watch the tubes more closely to find out

Hey Christina Cool Pic!!
I have a large colony and just recently noticed that several of them have two mouths now. I've been watching them for a while cause they didn't look like they were doing to good. sometimes they are as full and puffy as those in your pic but other times you could see where each sits on it's own "tube" and the sharp edges are almost protruding. I'm not to sure why it does that. What do you feed yours?
I think the tube is involved in the split because mine look like the "tube" is splitting right down to the base.
I'll try to get some pics as well... ;)

How long did the "Split" take? After seeing your post, I looked at mine and it appears some have recently split, and others have two mouths forming - so cool!!

They were connected for about 1 day like that.

What do you feed yours?

I'm posting a picture of my trumpets in my nano with their tentacles out. I feed them enriched brine, if the tentacles are out you can actually see them close up and eat...it is so cool.

BTW TG-
My 37gallon lion tank is back up and in beautiful condition!!!
