Here is my DIY canopy. I needed ease of access due to the tanks 30" height. What does everyone think? I still need to add all the trim work.

It looks great. Once it is finished, I bet it will look awesome. ;)

Very nice. Now you just need to stain and seal it.

Sump looks good as well. Did you build that as well? The whole thing looks like this may have been a DIY project. But, very professional looking. Once it is done, I don't think anyone will believe you built it yourself, unless you show them the construction pictures.

Great job!

Yes, i built it all (except the tank). I am not too thrilled about the joints on the sump. I am going to get some weldon 16 to reinforce the joints, hopefully that will be ok. Maybe Dan can join in and comment on it. Woodworking is another of my 'hobbies'. Thanks for the comments, and i will post more pics as i go.

Nice job ... looks good, but Id add a brace along the back and front to keep it from wanting to fall in on its self.

looks pretty slick, how long you been working on this?

Pete, thanks for the compliment. I have a brace across the back, and angle braces in the front that makes it really stable. I need it open in this manner so that i can actually get in there to to reach the bottom of the tank if needed.

Blueboy, thanks, i made the canopy in about 3 hours, overall i would guess 2-3 weeks between work and all that.

Finished the doors today.

That's awesome! I have never seen a stand with doors on the ends, but it is a great idea. It would make some of the maintenance tasks much easier, without having to crawl around to get at stuff from inside the stand.

Thanks, I really didn't have much option because that is the only way that the Sump would slide into the stand. Plus the tank is going into a corner and that looks good on the exposed side.

Thanks, it was made by a guy in AZ. Acrylic Creations Inc. I found him on eBay. But i had to call him on this size because he doesn't list it on eBay. Here is one that he is selling now.

He did a real good job on it. And i got a great deal on shipping, $84. Came with stand pipes (not Durso), and the return plumbing.

That slide out drawer on the end is sweet! Nice use of space!

That's a great looking stand. I was going to do the same thing and put doors on the ends of mine then decided instead that I'd make the side and front panels all easily removable with doors on just the front. Of course this is only possible if the stand isn't using the outer panels as part of the holding strength.

Need pictures of your setup once it's complete, looks great and I love the slide out.

The slide out was just a last minute thing. I was just going to put a door there but then realized that i can better utilize the space with a slide out like that. Thanks for the comments, and i will post more pics as i go along.
