So Im going to have a empty 55gal tank since Im upgrading to a 125... so with all my wisdom I want to have a mantis tank... thats right MANTIS...

so I think 2 mantis and a snowflake eel.... can they live togethor??? I was thinking 55 gal should be good enough for this...

The snowflake would probably eat them eventually...their teeth are designed to eat crustaceans and mollusks. If you are going to try anyway add the Mantis shrimps first, but with a predator lurking around I don't think the mantises would come out of hiding very much.

Most people who have more than one mantis in the same tank use some sort of divider to prevent fatal battles.

If I had a 55g laying around I would do a species only tank for a Cutllefish...those guys are awesome, but they do need cooler temp though.

look for a thread on GR abou"mantis hotel" it's about dividing a 55 into 3 sections for 3 diff mantises. i don't think you'll have much luck keeping 2 together, and i wouldn't try an eel with them, like don said they are designed for eating crustaceans.

also, a large mantis would crack your tank, i would recommend acrylic..
