I have a rainbow lifeguard chemical module I want to connect to a small mag drive 2.5 pump but I dont want to sink the pump in the sump and have added heat. If I run some 1/2 or 3/4" PVC over the side of my sump, with a small valve and tubing to pull the air from, keeping the submerged end higher than the inlet of the pump, this should siphon fast enough to keep up with 250gph shouldnt it? I have plenty of room behind the sump to put all this stuff and am thinking it should work just fine but figure someone here has tried this and knows if it will or will not work and why. I know a drilled hole and bulkhead would be the easiest solution but never thought of that when I built this sump. ****it always always find something I should have thought of sooner. Thanks for any advice.
