my wife wants me to put a tank in the house now not in my office(I know why because I would spend even more time in the office). Anyway I was planning a DIY hood (with four fans two in and two out) for a 46 oceanic Bowfront with 2X175 MH the back will be open as for closed loop circulation and a sump if I get up the nerve. Question 1 is this enough lighting for softies and if I plan to upgrade in the future enough for sps. I was also wondering what everyone is using for bulbs. I was searching online and found XM's that are not that pricy but I was always a believer in you get what you pay for. I also saw a pic with 12000k sunburst+20000kcoralife I liked them alot. The only thing is that brace in the center of the tank. Would I be better off using the same buld on each side or would the light spread enough to cover. The tank is 36.5X16.5X21.5 so I know the powerquads that I have wont work so I have them for sale in the classified section if you know anyone.
