Its time to change my current 250w DE 10K ushio bulbs and I need your guys opinion. I dont want to have actinic supplimentation so I thought going to a 14K would be better than a 10K. The question is, what brand of bulb? I will run the bulbs using icecap e-ballasts and PFO pendents. Pics would be awesome in helping me decide.
THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE

I recently changed my bulbs from 20K XM's to 14K coralview's. I bought them from 360reef. They have a nice mix of white and blue. I think they would color things up even more. Stop by my house if you want to see how they look. Also, If you look at my house as you drive home going up I-10 you'll notice the light is not as blue any more.

I have Hamilton 14k. I'm very pleased. Whichever brand, 14k is the way to go.

I also switched to 14K from 20K and couldnt be more pleased. The color is right as well as the growth. Mine are single ended bulbs though.

the coralvue 14k's were yellow to me, 6500k spectrum . I was told it was my ballast, ARO electronic. I love the 20k's

You really should see one in person on a similar ballast before investing! I tried the Hamilton 14K and it was WAY too blue for me, but I'm a 10K and 6500 kind of person :-D

Mine are 400W mogul run on PFO.
Same thing I tried - guess I just prefer the less-blue coloration!

I have a 175 watt hamilton, and I don't think it is so blue anmore, but maybe I have just adjusted to it. :)
