I was thinking about ordering some of these next week or two and wanted to gauge any interest in Austin.

Are you aware of the downsides to a carpet anemone? You might want to check into them before jumping into them.

you have to register with RC before it will let you into their site, if you already haven't...

It looks like these may be captive bred; I'd ask the guy to talk about his husbandry and propogation techniques. If he's really captive breeding these animals, I'd wholeheartedly support him, as removal of carpet anemones from the ocean is a serious environmental issue IMO and they almost never survive in aquariums.

I would like to pick one up for my work tank (40 reef). Ive had a green S gigantea in the same tank for over 2 years now and Ive been wanting to try a different carpet species.

I have these EVERYWHERE in my tank. They are really neat critters - the ones I ordered from Gary about a year ago have really taken off - if I can figure out how to safely extract a few they are free for you guys.

Jim - these only get to about quarter size - very hardy IME but too small for aclown to host in.

Mike,
Let us know if you can get a few off.

What are some of the downsides? From what I can gather it just seems these can split like crazy and you could end up having them everywhere stinging stuff but being relatively small and if they are easy to pry off then...?????

I am going to be busy this weekend with classes and the talk on Sunday - I will see about bringing some to the meeting to raffle off maybe.

these little guys will take over a tank. they are as bad as zenya and very hard to get out once you have them. talk to old salty. he has about 5,000 of them so you really don't have to order any. just call him. i'm sure he'll give them away. he has been flushing them.
