Does anyone know an HVAC engineer or anyone who works with chillers/refrigerators? My chiller runs like normal but is not chilling. I think this is either the compressor or the sensor but I do not know for sure and I do not know how to fix it. The manufacturer said that he would pay for someone to come and take a look. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Someone that works on small refrigerators or window AC units should have the equipment to run tests, but I can't offer any recommendations?

You said it is "Running Like Normal"? Is it cycling on/off? Is their any indicator light or anything indicating that it is "Trying" to chill? How much water flow do you have going through it? If the flow is too low, it will quickly chill the water in the heat exchanger and shut off, then turn back on when enough water flows through to remove the "chill" - This "Short Cycling" will do very little to effectively cool the water, and will wear out the compressor.

I have tried at several flow levels. All flow from my ampmaster 3000 to half flow from the 3000. I guess running like normal is not the best description. The chiller turns on, read the correct tank temp, and the fan kicks on. The water is just not being chilled. Anyway, I have gone back and forth with the manufacturer and I just need someone who know to come take a look.

I am going to try the yellow pages but does anyone know someone?

I know someone, but unfortunately he is in Austin. Bummer on the chiller. Not cool (pun intended) to get a great new toy, I mean critical life support device for reef aquarium, and it not work properly.

Hopefully you will find a good reputable HVAC technician in your area and they will be able to get it fixed to your satisfaction. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
