View Full Version : Death by Ricordia?

One of our Montipora frags got knocked off it's rock (I'm sure by our large orange legged hermit) and landed right in the middle of a ricordia last night. I immediately put it back on the ledge it was sitting on this morning, but the Monti looks pretty darn sad at this point. I'd say 70% of it is now a bleached white color, but the other 30% has normal coloration with polyps out. Should I just consider it a lost cause, or is there a possibility that it may survive?
Thanks for any comments ;)

Wendy,
Most mushrooms will sting SPS and possibly kill then if left in contact for too long. I would just let the cap sit and see if it survives. Most likely the 30% will survive and eventually grow back over the dead tissue.

I agree with Greg caps are hardy and the colored portion will grow back over itself.

Cool! Thanks, Guys ;)
I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
