I have some macro in my refugium that grows at a fair and steady pace. Has been in there for a few months and I prune a little bit every week or so. I recently started adding Kent Iodine. I add about 1/4 of the recommended dose every couple of days instead of one big dose weekly. Holy crap man the macro in the fuge doubles in size every week. I use to prune small amounts and now I am taking out huge amounts just to be able to see the middle of the fuge. It grows like crazy, completly filling the fuge within one weeks time. I used to empty my skimmer cup about every 3 days and now I empty it once a week. The only other thing I have changed was the pump that circulates water through the fuge. I was moving about 80gph or so but my pump finally crapped out so used the only pump I had which is a magdrive 2.5 so moving over double the amount of water through there. So which has caused the macro to be so happy? The iodine or the increased water flow?
