What are the typical (most common) hole sizes that y'all get your tanks drilled to?

The most common thing I see on medium tanks (100-200) is 1" drains and 3/4" returns.

All the holes I had drilled for closed loops were for 1" bulkheads ... I think that's a 1.5" hole?
The Oceanic Reef Ready tanks came with holes for 1" bulkheads for overflow drains, and holes for 3/4" bulkheads for returns.

typical 1" bulkheads take 1.75" holes, I think.

1-3/4" is correct and mine are 1-1/2" (2-3/8") but was wondering what the common size holes used are.
So far 1" and 3/4" ...

Ohh, you mean most common size bulkheads? 1" for sure. But, I'd never do that again unless the tank was really small. 1.5" bulkheads are much better. I never understood the rational behind drilling for returns; I've always thought it's much safer to just hang 'em over the tank.
So, I guess the most common sized holes are 1.75" and 1.5" (for 3/4" bulkheads). Why, gonna buy a diamond bit?

For drain bulkheads, the bigger the better, I'd say 1 1/2in. bulkheads (I've got 2in. drains on my 75g). For return lines, 3/4in. bulkheads are pretty much the norm.

I've got dual 1" drains and dual 3/4" returns on my 100 gal. If I were doing it again, I'd go 1.5" and 1".

1.5" drains and returns on 180.
