I have a couple Aiptasia in my new tank that came with the live rock. Any suggestions? I have read a few on the site already.

Localised kalk injection would be my suggestion, especially if theres only a few and theyre easily accessable.

Go get some Joe's Juice from Fin-Addict! I had a 2.5g tank that started out with 1 aiptasia and ended up with over 40 after a few months. I went and bought joes juice and they were gone in a matter of minutes

Get the aptasia eating nudibranches from Larry (Instar), just send him a PM. You can limit the ones you see with injections, or paste, or hot water, but you will never get them all.

If you see a few, you have more than a few that you can't see.

Thanks for the info.... if it continues could i sell them.. Hehehaha :-D I don't have any fish (atleast for a month or so), so I might try and treat them individually and then go for the kill with the nudibranches, any thoughts...

Inject at the base with boiling water using a very small Syringe. I killed all my a year ago. Alton

eddie, that is the way I have been doing it. Better to think of the nudibranchs as a control method, you can never really get rid of them, but if you get the problem under control with the juice (the big ones the nudi's dont go after) and then let the nudies eat everything else, you probably won't see anymore.

Take the rock out of your tank and let it sit in the sun for about a month. This method is guaranteed!

Seriously...
Nudibranch, peppermint shrimp, copperband butterfly all work.

Copperband has worked wonders for me in the past but I have had little luck keeping the fish alive for more than about 6 weeks.

Raising your calcium level can help control aptasia. Changes in water quality always upset anemones.

Hmmm...But zoas are for all practical purposes a colonial anemone, and since we started dripping kalk at night (about two weeks ago) *everything* in the tank is growing better...including the zoos. I'm amazed at how "perky" they look. So...???
