Is the AQUA MEDIC TURBOFLOTOR T1000 a good skimmer?

Check with NaCL_H2O. He is operating one and likes it.

I've been eyeing this one for my predator tank, since I don't want too many openings my snowflake eel can get out from. From what I read on aqua-medic's site the skimmer can run external also, with the pump submerged. At present don't have a sump so would have to have the pump inside the tank. I wonder if either pump could pump up the side of the tank and outside to an external skimmer??

I have a TurboFloater 5000 Single, and it is a great skimmer. Looks like the TF 1000 series operates more like a typical venturi skimmer, so I can't comment on how it would compare to the TF 5K? AquaMedic does make a 24" TF 5K model, but it is more than double the price of the TF 1K.

If you are looking for an outstanding skimmer, and could afford the cost, I would highly recommend the TF 5K series skimmers.
