My Pacific Coast C-1000 1HP chiller arrived today, it is HUGE !!!

I need to re-work my "Where am I gonna put this beast" plans a little. I plan to install it on a shelf with the back end pointed out a window (Like a window AC unit) But I am going to need to add some structural support!

I had planned to install this weekend, but time is limitted - my youngest (daughter) is graduating from College/UTSA on Saturday! :-D :-D I do have priorities, but I think the graduation ranks up there above the chiller install ;)

Anyway, here is a pic (Yes, that's a 200g bucket of salt for comparison). I'll let you know more on performance, etc. when I get it hooked up.

Alex, you may need to wait a little longer for the 1/4HP chiller

I had the day off today and finished installing my Pacific Coast Imports 1HP chiller, and the "replacement" 15,000 BTU AC unit.

My temp control problems seem to be in the past now! In the first hour of operation the new chiller pulled down the temp of my system by about 1.5 degF - while all the halides were on! That's about 500-600 gallons of water. I have it set at 80 now, seing how it handles that, then I may drop it another degree or two in a few days?

Nice product, very "Plug & Play"!

No kidding! Saltcreep in the tanks, and equipmentcreep outside the tanks  I hope I'm "done" now and get to start spending 2005 money on corals :)

I wonder how hard it would be to move the Kitchen wall over about 6 feet? Oops, I forgot Karen is on MAAST now ... just kidding ;)

Yikes. I was looking at chillers today and was shocked to see that a 1/4 HP chiller can draw 9 Amps. You must have a dedicated 20A circuit or more to run that beast.

Yup, and another dedicated 20A for the AC, and 5 more for the lights, pumps, etc.

CPSB sent me a Christmas Card :-D
