I have some hair green algae in the back upper part of the tank. What critters would work best to get rid of it?

Also, I have a good growth of red bubble algae in the sump and I figure some emerald crabs would work to remove.

Any suggestions on both algae problems?

Thanks

Astrea and Turbos do a good job on glass. Not so good on LR. Nerite and Cerith snails are also a good choice.

Emerald Crabs are kinda iffy on bubble algae. They are picky as to which spercies of bubble algae they will eat. There are 7 different species. I used to have bubble algae in my tanks. Now I have a Foxface in both of my tanks and no bubble algae.

I added a Foxface to the tank and he has not touched the hair algae that is covering the back top of the tank. The bubble algae is red and in the sump only.

I added 10 astrea snails and probably will had more of those and turbos to do the hair algae on the glass.

Mark - can you post a picture of it? Are you sure it's not bryopsis instead of hair algae. The foxface should make short work of a little hair algae once he settles in completely.

mark, are you sure the bubble algae in your tank is of the nusance kind? I may be wrong, but i think only Velonia is nuisance, and it's green, you may actually have a rather gorgoues addition to your tank. I have several species of botralacadia (i know i butchered that.) these are not considered nuisance.

hmmm if its the top of your tank I would use the ol hand fish.... reach in there make sure you accumulate it and that hand fish will grab it in one swoop and put it in the trash for you :) ......
