do you find e-baying marine life reliable? i am worried that things will arive dead.

Read the feedback of the seller. That will pretty much tell you all you need to know. If you have a bunch of buyers complaining about dead critters, then don't buy from that seller!
I've seen some good deals on snails...for instance, check out seller by the name of cm-marine...they sell 100 half inch Llyanassa snails for $29.00 including shipping...seller has 758 feedbacks with 99.9% positives (really good FB rating). You can get some good deals on corals too, but you have to watch out for the shipping costs. I doubt seriously I would ever order a live fish from another eBayer (for various reasons). Oh, and we have a local eBayer that sells corals (mostly softies and zoos), goes by texascoral*com and he lives in Round Rock. I've bought some huge zoo colonies for like $10. bucks and you can go pick up the goods in person to circumvent the shipping charges all together. Really nice guy too. Generally, if you just plug in "live coral" in your eBay search, you will get a nice variety of goodies.
