Since the election of the officers and BOD members at the last meeting, there are no new posts naming the officers of the club in the MAAST announcements. When will this information be announced for the inquiring minds of the general population? Is there a recount going on? j/k

I got a HUGE yellow acro from them a couple of weeks ago that is one of the nicest pieces I have seen in a long time. It is an absolute monster. If you have not been to their store, the meeting is a great time to do it.

I know I will be there. I dropped in before the last meeting, and its a real nice place. Felipe was real friendly, and kept a nice conversation going.(and when you can keep a conversation going with me you have people skills. Im not much of a talker.) He gave me a quick tour of the place. It was real neat. I sure I missed some stuff when I was in there, and I know he will have added more things by the meeting so I can wait to see it again.

I talked to Felipe on Thur. and he said he was going to bringing in a lot of stuff for the meeting. He likes to do frag swaps as much as we do because he's trying to get a large propagation tank started. One thing I like about Felipe is that he will frag out some of the larger more expensive pieces so that they are affordable to average guy (or gal.) I was lucky to get one of the pieces of the large pink cats paw that every reefer in SA was salivating over. He's getting in the type of corals that a lot of us have had to order off the net in the past. Personally I have gotten tired of going into some LFS here and seeing the same old digitatas and mushrooms every time I go in. I, like many of you, have all that stuff in my collection. What I am interessted in unique corals that no other LFS in SA is carrying, or at least carrying at an affordable price.

Having lived in other parts of the country I realize we are spoiled in S. TX. Prices here are much lover than in other parts of the country.

I did find a microscopic foot note with current officers that might be up to date. When will the BOD link and the general MAAST announcements be up to date with the correct and currect officers? I just cut and pasted this from the current home page link.

We had an idea we thought we would bounce of ya'll.

We were thinking about going somewhere after the meeting at Fin-Addict and having a bit of a social hour. We don't really have a Xmas party but it could be something along those lines. I was thinking about somewhere that had a nice aquarium. Maybe Caparelli's?

We could have a few beverages and maybe some appetizers. It would be nice to get to know some of you outside of a meeting or online. I'm open to some alternative ideas so fire away.

Front and center on the MAAST Home Page is a big MAAST LOGO. Directly under it are the following links:

About the Association
Mission Statement, Board of Directors, Our History ...

The BOD is the ones copied in earlier in this message. I don't think that is correct and if thats not correct, am I supposed to go by the warranty text, the blue on blue, grey on grey foot notes at the bottom of the page then? This link immediately under the MAAST LOGO is the official officer statement it looks like to me. Maybe I missed all the cograts messages and so forth due to work? I thought the officers would be on here by now? I'm sorry that I can not make the meetings to be in the know on what happened there and very sorry that I won't be able to attend in December either. So, from another perspective, this official link to the BOD is just not updated looks like to me as some of those folks I know moved away? I can write the page if I can help in some way? Who is the person to contact now about such things as this?

The ones that are on the board now are still active. The members that were voted in dont take position until after the first. The list of newly elected officers are printed on the home page not linked to.

If I understood you correctly hope this helps!

Here you go, Larry.

Congratulations to our newly elected officers and directors.

A very hearty thank you to the first board members who did a tremendous amount of work in the beginning phases of our ever-growing organization. These names include Jim Norris, Matt Dunne, Tim Marvin, Ray Rendon & Henry Moncada. Without their assistance, our successes and efforts would have been diminutive.

The results of Sunday's election are as follows:
President
Misti Thueson

Vice President
Blake Kopplin

Newly elected BOD
Steve Krauskopf
Pete Rafferty
Gary Powell
Alex Wolf
Chris Pugh

Remaining BOD
Adam Busenlehner
Chris Parker
Barry Drawdy
Daniel Flores
Sherri Ancira

The new board members and officers will preside over their positions at the start of the new year.

This is also our first frag meeting. We are trying to come up with a process that will be fair and fun for everyone. Our current trading policy is: rare for rare and common for common. At the meeting we're thinking of having a sign up sheet with a limit of 5 corals per person, so everyone gets their fair share!

Wohoo!

I am going to be able to come to the meeting. No frags to trade, but I am definately looking to buy! This too will be my first frag swap. And I am definately looking forward to it.

Am I going to be able to pick up my membership card at the meeting?

I think it is fair to have a limit of 5 corals per person. That way, people who come late, can still have something to get. I know, I wouldn't be too happy if I drove back to austin with nothing.

See you at the meeting!

Good to hear! That was my first time ever to work in a LFS, It is much harder than I thought. I knew I was introuble when I got there and Filipe said, "put on that shirt and clean the skimmer". That is the one downfall of my Matt's Monster, they suck to clean. I just cleaned mine yesterday and then I had to do it again today. Gross stuff in those things.

Yes, there does need to be a big thank you to Sarah and Filipe. They did an awesome job, as always. Thanks to Tim and Greg too, you guys have some pretty sweet frags. I look forward to my 5-foot T5's you got coming my way.

All in all it was a great job all around. I know there have been some bad stories in the past when we have had meetings in a LFS but IMO today went very well. Everyone was patient and I did not see any arguing for a change. It was very nice meeting some of the new members and seeing some of the old ones again. I am sorry I missed the social but I will try no hold a non-official Maast social at my house in the near future. I think the smaller group social meetings are a great idea.

Great meeting guys!!! Sarah and Felipe did a great job...and I know it was a lot of work. I finally decided to get my own membership and stop mooching of Brian (GreenMako)!!! I'm looking forward to the next meeting...it's at FinAddict right? :D

I bought 10 $ worth for a change, I came out smelling like roses! My new membership paid, Cool!!!

Big ups to Felipe in Sarah, it was a great time. I had a chance to meet some of the coolest people. They are really great, the store had this homely feeling about it. Laidback smoothe attitude, I absolutely Loved it.

The corals & clam I picked up sure are sweet. Felipe I heard you got the Sailfin out, call me. I still want him.....
