Whenever the next Hellolights order gets going, I need to get some new 20k bulbs.

I was hoping to do it sooner. My bulbs are 7 months old and should be replaced. Those XM's seem to have a pretty short lifespan. Might go with the Ushio's or the Radiums, but I think I might have the wrong type of ballasts for those.

I think Jim was getting about a year out of his 20K XM's running them on a PFO ballast. BTW, you can run the Ushio's off of a standard ballast, just like the XM's.

I'll probably jump on the order too, if you wait till late Dec or Jan.

I don't think Jim ever ran a bulb more than 6 months before trying some new ones. I could be wrong though.

I thought Jim said he was at about a year on the 20K's around them time he added the 10K's, and was getting ready to swap out the 20K's for some new ones..

If you look at the prices on Ushios compared to XM you can just about replace them twice as often and come out about even.

Just turned in an order to hellolights. Today is the last shipping day for this week. Glad I made it in time. My XMs are still burning after 12 months but how do you know if they are still useful? We have 2 x 250w 10k and a 20k mogul base. TR

12 months aint nothing for an Iwasaki, I ran one for two years, replaced it with a new one and could barely tell the difference.

Was this order ever done? If it's still in the works, I'd like to jump in with 2 bulbs if possible.

I just put in an order for the local reef club here in Ohio (www.cincyreef.com). If you guys are interested, I can offer you the same deal.

$55 a piece for single ended XM bulbs, any color, any wattage. This only works if I can sell a case (12 bulbs). I will pick up the cost of shipping.

The bulb choices are: 175 Watt 10k or 20k, 250 watt 10k or 20k, 400 watt 10k or 20k.

If you guys are interested in this, we would have to designate one person in your area to be the "distributor", I would just ship them to this person and they could make sure everyone got their bulbs.

I just checked hellolights, they are between $59 and $69 per bulb, plus shipping.

Thanks,

Rob

I'm also interested in getting a new fixture for my new tank that I'm in the process of setting up. How much of a discount do we usually get on group orders? PLMK... thanks!

DAB

If the question was directed towards me, I am not affiliated with Hellolights. I just buy from their wholesale division. I can usually get my hands on most of HelloLights products, there have been a few items they sell directly that they do not sell through their wholesale arm. I can always check though.

Josh - I imagine they changed to selling case lots to distributors to cut down on packaging/shipping costs. I might be interested in those metal halide setups as per our PMs, but I'd probably have to paypal you using the could old credit card for now! lol

Just these 48" or all bulbs?
