Calfo manifold ideas?

Hi,
I am reworking my water circulation schema and would like to incorporate the Anthony Calfo closed loop model written about in Advanced Aquariusts while also placing a SCWD in the loop. Can anybody throw some good ideas out there on how I can do that. Here is terribly crude drawing of what I have thought of so far.

O.K.
Let me explain what my drawing tries to describe. :-D I have a SCWD placed above a pump the SCWD then branches off to two PVC manifolds on each side of my 110. The idea is tho get the alternating currents created by the SCWD to each manifold on either side of the Tank creating turbulent or maybe surge flow. I am currently using a Laminar flow setup and I am not happy with the results. The Pump will be fed via the sump.
Let me Clarify that I am only interested in my closed loop circualation.
My overflow schema is already in place and I am just trying to get better additional flow and get rid of dead spots.

I know some of you guys have some pretty good ideas on closed loop setups using a scwd. Give me some Ideas.

In Answer to your question Joshua I am trying to come up with an effective way of getting a closed loop system implementing a scwd. As I stated earlier I am working on rearranging my rockwork so I can get better circualtion around my Tank and ensure no dead spots are present. The less drilling of the Tank the Better. I don't think drilling holes in the bottom of a tank is a good idea structurally.

George, I don't think the sqwd will give you enough time between switching to create the surging or turbulence that you are looking for. It will be switching to fast to create any type of significant flow across your tank.

I have been reviewing some of the information on the scwd's and with the quick alternation of flow I am sure you are correct. I guess I am just going to put a basic manifold in place.

George, If this is something you really want to do, I would look into some electric ball valves to do the switching. Lots of ppl use them. Do a search on RC for them.

Right about the SCWD. It would work in a small area perhaps but its too short a blast to carry very far so far as current and movement goes. You would have to have additional circulation devices to drive a wave and current through the tank. The way it works, they would be better working one behind the other, not opposing each other.
If you feed the pump from the sump, then that is NOT a closed loop. It will add that pump's volume to the overflow for the tank and sump return.
