Fin Addict

Just wanted to provide another positive post for the great service at Fin Addict from Felipe and Sarah. I stopped by the store last Wednesday on my way home from work and found they had 3 large true percula clownfish, all part of pairs he was selling for $60. For those that may know, I have been looking for a large female for several months now to replace the female I lost from the pair I have had for a year or so. They are hard to find! After talking to Felipe about it, he immediately called his supplier to see if they had more and if so, to add one to their order for me. Unfortunately, they did not get anymore in this time, but Felipe was awesome enough to sell me one of the large ones he had left, separating it from the pairing he had made. On top of that, I got the 25% off since it was Tuesday!

They are great people to deal with and talk to and they have a great store that sounds like it will only get better in time. I am so happy to finally have a great LFS on my side of town for a change! lol :-)

Same here, i was at the store today while Chris was there, got some awesome zoos, and some shrimp..they had some awesome stuff....can't wait till the frag swap...

Geez, this post gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Felipe and Sarah work hard to make Fin-Addict a quality store and deserve every bit of praise they get. Personally, if I need anything I would rather buy it from them than the large chain stores (Petco, Petsmart, etc).. the customer service is unreal. If you havent gone, drop by and check it out. Promise you wont be dissapointed.

Isn't gonna happen. It is great that we have a good store to go to, but we can't make a section for one store and not the rest of our sponsors... Aquatic Warehouse got rave reviews when they first came on also. Most places come on with a bang, but it is long term dealings we are interested in here. MAAST cannot, and will not bias itself to one place or another or we will cease to function as a great organization.. Our numbers have greatly increased since our start in Yahoo Mostly due to Chris for putting us on our own .org, but also by the time and work of about 6-8 members willing to keep this club going instead of shutting it down. We took a vote back then and decided to leave it running for a few more months, and I am so glad we did stay with it! Our numbers are in the high 800's last time I checked and we are growing stronger by the day! We are being recognized more and more across the country, and hopefully some day we can be as large as RC with the same knowledge to pull from! We certainly have buying power with these numbers!!!!

Josh - Don't think they got any zoos in this week. They got a couple of nice acro colonies though. One was already spoken for and two (including one I wanted!) Felipe is saving for fragging at the upcoming MAAST meeting. I think he needs some time to get his zoos growing before he can start fragging them out. I think he is going to order some more stuff for the meeting.

It's so cool, after acclimating the percula clown for awhile, I gently put her in the tank. In less than 10 seconds, she swam back to the corner and found my anemone and my lonely male seemed happy to have some company. I was worried about him fighting/chasing a new clown off as he has gotten somewhat aggressive in his bachelor days. I'm a happy camper for sure! lol

Anyway I am amazed at how many people we need to run this club now...This is awesome!

Yeah, Chris, I saw those acros. If I had my 180 up and running they'd be floating in my tank right now. Big colonies too.

I have one of those big colonies! I got it last week. They had more this week? Hmmm.....

Yeppers, had two or three nice ones there today that weren't there last Wedensday when I was there. Two of them I would have taken easily if they had been for sale even though I would have to rearrange my entire tank to make room for them! lol

Those big pieces he has been getting are hard to find. I love the last piece I got. A big yellow one with tons of branches growing over an old dead acro.

Felipe told me the one slender branched on up top with purple tips was spoken for and the person was coming by today to pick it up. Maybe they changed their mind. It's cool he is getting in some nice colonies and they seem fair in price as well.

Thanks to GaryP. and scubasteveo, we finally made our first trip to Fin Addict today and came home with several nice items.
Felipe and Sarah are great people and we really enjoyed meeting them as well as bringing home a few new corals.
Great store and we will need to find a way to make it out on a Tuesday.

Look forward to our next visit the next time we are in S.A. .

I have to agree with Chris - Felipe and Sarah are some of the nicest folks you'll ever want to meet, and it was fun meeting cpreefguy too!!! :grin: I'll tell ya what, if this store was in Austin, they would never be able to get me out of there. Not only do they have a great set-up, pretty corals & healthy fish (nice diversity too I might add), but they are super fun to hang out and chat with. AND I actually got to see Moorish Idols up close and personal (up to now, I'd only seen pictures)...they were beautiful and healthy. Felip and Sarah hooked us up with some beautiful corals too - two different colors of 'shrooms, four different frags of zoas/palys and a black sun coral. Since we got back to Austin so late last night, we decided to drip aclimate the corals so we could get some shut eye, but once I get them placed, I'll try to get some pics. Any of you Austin folks that haven't taken the time to drive to SA to visit should *definitely* make the effort...it is well worth it!!! I give this store two enthusiastic thumbs up!! ;)

Felipe and Sarah kept the store open for us when we weren't able to get there by closing time (9PM!!!!) and never rushed us as we took our time chatting and picking out some AMAZING Orange & Blue Rics.

The drive from Austin is Always worth it when going to Fin Addict. Thanks guys.
