I know this subject is probably killed a dozen times a month but I can't find the answer, Can I use Ozarka water to top off my tank???

Is it ro/di water? I would think they would put something in there after it has been filtered to keep any bacteria from growing in the containers after filling. I may be wrong but I lived in Wood and Henderson counties (2 of 3 well sites) and wouldnt drink it knowing the sources they get it from.. Not to knock Ozarka, they are a good company, I just remeber the smell from there plants.
I use the Glacier machines in front of the local HEB which is probably no better.

I would say NO. It is a spring water that has been filtered using various methods and adjusted chemically for taste. It is not RO/DI water. I think some people do go to those big water filter stations that are known to produce RO water and have had some success with it

I agree with captexas - NO.
(Shame on you Joshua  )

the distilled shouldn't have anything added to it
Yeah, "shouldn't" in our minds is the operative word. :) I know you've been doing this forever, but, its really expensive doing that and it doesn't have to be low on the scale of TDS. Some tests reported a highter TDS on that than on tap water. Do you check your bottles or just chance it?

No, tap water will measure 0 on the refractometer or by hydrometer most of the time and if not zero, so close you can't tell the difference. Calibrating a refractometer is really a mis-nomer anyway unless you have a precise adjustment and use ultra pure, reagent grade, acs certified water. I've seen refractometers that are really close to the analytical hydrometer and some that are as far off as .009 and thats a lot!

I used it too and had a beautiful tank. But, I can't recommend it b/c of the unknowns and possible contaminates. Too risky for me to continue and way too expensive considering the alternative of my own RO.

i was just about to post this same question but it was the first on the list already. the ozarka drinking H20 has been purified using RO, Carbon filtration, microfiltration and ozoneation. the distilled H20 has only been purified by carbon, micro, and ozone. the drinking H20 however has had calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, and sodium bicarbonate added, whereas the distilled H20 has not been added to. so would it be better to use the Ro purified drinking water or the non RO non-additive H20?

beagleton,
You forgot to mention that distilled water is purified by distillation too. Carbon, micro, and ozone are all done prior to, or after the distillation process. Distilled water is also usually purified by DI to reduce the TDS before distillation.

it will work but the process only removes 95%ish of the tds. wal mart distiled works better than heb purified or ozarka.
