aquatektropical.com

But it doesn't list anything except basic info about the store. No inventory or anything fancy like that.

Google search Tunze USA, you might find some answers there.

you can check premium aquatics, they are one of our sponsors with an online catalog. but yes aquatek does carry them from time to time, the only problems is that they sell out of them rather quickly. i happen to have 2 of them. a 6060 and a 6080.

You can also buy them from Champion Lighting. If you don't want the controller try a 6060. They are like $125- $150.

I have many Tunze products and I have bought them all at Aquatek. They are not nay more expensive the online when it comes to tunze and they can show you how to set it up. I buy online alot but when it comes to tunze I think this is a good time to support the local LFS. Either way, they are high priced because they are the best.

Monica,

Here is the link for the Tunze USA Rep (Roger) in reef central Forum. He is pretty good at answering any question you have .

The 6060 is not variable speed so it would not work with a tunze controller. I guess you could plug it into something like a red sea wavemaker pro but I really do not know.

Here is the link to their web site:

Notice the 6060 and 6080 are not variable speed

If you want variable speed for wave simulation but the streams are too big you can go with the Turbelle electronic.
http://www.tunze.com/usa/index.html?lang=en-gb

This link is the front page to all 4 different types:

Once again, just ask Rodger on reef central or Aaron or Bruce at Aquatek. You do not need to live in Austin to call them and talk over the phone and they can ship it to you too.

Thanks you all so much, I did talk to the guys at Aquatek and they are the best. I have decided to suck it up and pay the price. So thanks for all the info.

I know its a moot point now but the 6060 and 6080 can NOT be plugged into a red sea wave timer because it will destroy the impeller. It turns the PH on and off. The tunze controller slows, then speeds up the impeller never stopping it. They use a unidirectional impeller, unlike most other powerheads. And therefore can only be turned off a few times a day without prematurely destroying the brakes. The red sea wave maker is best used on cheap power heads you don't mind burning up.

Just an FYI, happy power heading...
