Quick question, anyone have experience controlling hydroids in their tank? My clown tank has some rocks that are literaly covered in them. I tried soaking the rock in fresh water and scrubbing with no luck, Im thinking blow torch at this point. Id like some form of biological approach if possible. I read somewhere that a CBS (Coral Banded Shrimp)will eat them but they also have a taste for Zoos, which I have plenty of in this tank. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks!

What does the hydroid look like? I had 2 different kinds and kalk worked on the one. After the move I have not see the other, but the rock sat in a trash can for a couple days.

Pete, the ones I have look like small brown feather duster like organisms that colonize on the rock by the hundreds. Try a Google search or a search on RC for a pic... They can and will sting anything that gets close to them.

They are the ones the kalk worked on. You have to get the entire area and then it leaves a white blob there.

Tiger Cowries, I wish I could find one around here smaller than a freekin baseball!
