I have something in my fuge drilling a hole in one of my rocks. Any ideas? I havent seen anything, but every day a pile of ground up rock builds up in front of this small hole in the rock. The hole is about a 1/4 inch in diameter. Almost circular enough to be from a drill bit, but not quite that perfect.

Thanks,
Mike

Oh no you found me out! I drilled all my rock for aquascaping and now I am after yours too!!!!

Just kidding... maybe it's a type of clam?
Are you sure it's ground up rock and not painfully hard poo?

Hey Mike...I have the same thing. I actually caught the critter in action late at night after lights out with a red flashlight. At first I thought it was going after my zoo's, then I saw that there was another hole that it was seeking out. I still haven't seen it picking on the zoo's, but I'm a little wary.

What I saw was a worm like creature with no definitive eyes or mouth. When I hit him with the flashlight, it didn't recede back into it's hole, but more like contracted. It almost looked like something was sucking the water out of it and deflating it. Try taking a look late at night at the spot of the hole. I bet you can catch it in action. Now, wheter to remove or not, I can't answer. I'd like to know too.
