My pair of Ocellaris have spawned but I am not sure if there is a chance for them to service. Do any of you have any idea on this? If so, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Fabian ;)

You have to feed the fry rotifers. There's not much chance that fry will survive in a community tank. The eggs will usually get eaten even before they hatch. Larry (Instar) is a clown breeder. Check with him for more details.

I guess it is that time of year, everyones clows are spawning. There are many things to know if you want to raise the fry. First, it is very hard. The eggs should not get eaten in your tank. Maybe they would be eaten after they hatch but they are probably going to starve before they get eaten. Like Gary said, you have to feed them rotifers. You can get rotifers overnighted but that is very expensive. You would need to set up several small tanks to breed the clowns. The first type of tank would be for green water. This can be done in 2 liter bottles. You have to grow the green water to feed the rotifers in the second typr of tank. And the eggs would need to be collected and put in a third tank. Once the clowns hatch then you feed the rotifers to them. www.saltwaterfish.com has a great thread for information. They should spwan every 3 to 4 weeks now and the eggs should hatch 30 minutes after the lights go out on the 8th night. My clowns have it nailed down so much I can set my watch by it.

I think my clowns should have asked me before they did this (JK) because I am working more then usual and don't have the free time to do this extra work. Will I be a bad Reefer if I don't help my new additions?

No you will not be. It is very hard to do and very time consuming and very expensive to get set up. If you do try, and I mean try, you will be an awesome reefer. I plan to try to raise mine but have not yet.
