Someone posted the first half of this article recently. I thought it was a really good article and went on to read the second half. The link to the the second half is below. I'm sorry, but I couldn't find the thread that contained the link to the first half, so I created a new one. I thought the second half contained some really good recommendation on how to use carbon. I just wish they had evaluated TOC instead of just color. It seems like they were just concverned with water color. There are a lot of other nasty organics in aquarium water besides those that cause coloration. One of the most interesting things that I got from this was that the type of carbon most of use are using (pellets) was found to be the least effective. The other thing was that one of the least expensive (Two Little Fishies) was found to be most effective. I've never seen that carried by any of the LFS in the area. I plan to mention that to a few of the LFS owners.
