I just tested my water, and my nitrates are finally down to 0... or at least low enough for my test kit to not be able to read it. Sorry, I get excited over the smallest things sometimes.

Well they were never REALLY high, but they were pushing the upper limits of "OK"

I hear ya man... My Christmas wish list is full of items that start with 'salifert' I succumbed to cheapness when starting and bought the.. oh what is it.. doc wellfish brand? kits... I just don't trust them, algae blooming in the system and the kit says no nitrates? of course phosphates are probably an issue too.. but oh well... congrats!

Phosphate are more likely a problem and there is no good test for phosphates.
