Got me an old freebie, which I was gonna use on the 50gal I'm setting up soon. It is by Sander Aquarienechnik, its an Eiweiss-Abschaumer: Type WT250. Anybody know about these things? Crap? Good? Either way, its surely outdated, but will it hold me off for a good while? I'm focusing on the lighting upgrades and finishing filling the tank with liverock before I planned to get another skimmer.

Edit: Also, just for quality justification, its all brand new/mint in package, including everything, so I didnt get some second hand item. If that matters.

The way I look at it, a free skimmer will hold you over better than no skimmer. Why not give it a try, and when you get enough money saved to buy a new one, then you can decide if the one you have is good enough or not.

I'd planned on doing that anyhow, since I have it, of course. Anyhow, all I was able to find out is that people used these back in like the early/mid 90's? Fitted on tanks from 8-30 gallons. "they are a counter-current type, unlike Coralife skimmers" is what the site I found said, what does that mean?
