Sorry but no pic, cam stinks! It looks like a goblet growing out of the rock, it is pink and appears to be soft?!?
Any thoughts?

Hmm. Could be some type of mushroom or polyp. How big is it? Also, is there any indication of tentacles around it? How tall is it? How much of it is the cup, and how much is the stem, etc. In the absence of a picture, we really do need the whole 1,000 words, lol.

Seriously, it'll be pretty hard to tell without a picture. Even a bad one is usually better than none.

Chiton, does it move and have a segmented shell? Oval shaped? If yes these are good cleaners and good addition to the tank. It probably just came in on a piece of Live rock.

Go get a cheap magnifying lense at WalMart or Scientific Supply. Preferably one that is 3x to 5x and then use the macro of your camera with the plastic magnifying lense in front of the apurture, hold it steady, move closer and back till its in focus and squeeze the shutter. It will take a close up for you without spending a bunch of money on a camera. The higher the magnification of the magnifying lense, the smaller it is likely to be in diameter. And the cheap higher X ones are only a couple bucks and plastic. They work great!
